Your Ura-Shibuya Guide

Born and Raised in Tokyo

I was born and raised in Tokyo and have lived in Ura-Shibuya for over 12 years.

Traveling has always been one of my greatest passions. Over the years, I’ve visited countries such as Hawaii, Australia, Germany, Poland, and the United States, and I have always enjoyed joining local tours and experiences wherever I travel.

Through these experiences, I discovered that some of the most unforgettable memories come not only from beautiful places, but also from local guides and the people you meet along the way.

Those experiences inspired me to become a guide myself and share the hidden side of Tokyo that most visitors never get to experience.

Why Guests Choose This Tour

Local Knowledge

Having lived in Ura-Shibuya for over 12 years, I know the neighborhood not only as a guide, but as a local resident.

Beyond the main streets, I enjoy sharing hidden alleyways, local history, neighborhood stories, and places that many visitors would never discover on their own.

Because this area is part of my daily life, I can introduce guests to the side of Shibuya that guidebooks often miss.

Carefully Selected Restaurants

Every restaurant on this tour has been personally selected after many visits and tastings.

Rather than simply choosing inexpensive or convenient places, I focus on restaurants that serve quality ingredients, authentic flavors, and dishes I would confidently recommend to my own friends.

I also value restaurants that offer a traditional Japanese atmosphere, including tatami seating and cozy neighborhood izakaya interiors.

Food, drinks, and atmosphere are all important parts of travel memories, which is why I carefully select every stop on this tour.

Local Connections

Because I visit these restaurants regularly as a local, I’ve naturally built relationships with many owners and staff members over time.

These connections help create a more welcoming experience for guests and make it possible to offer carefully selected restaurants and quality food at a reasonable price.

For me, this tour is not simply about visiting restaurants, but about sharing the people, atmosphere, and hidden side of Tokyo that I experience in my everyday life.

Why I Started Guiding

Inspired by Travel

I've visited Hawaii nearly ten times, joining local tours such as ziplining, e-bike tours, ATV adventures through movie locations, sunset sailing, and trips to Secret Island.

I also joined tours in Australia, exploring the Blue Mountains, national parks, glow worms, and the night sky, as well as sightseeing tours in New York.

Even today, some of my strongest travel memories are the beautiful scenery, together with the guides I met, the conversations we shared, and the time we spent together.

Connecting Through Tokyo

During the pandemic, when international travel became difficult, I began creating and sharing cinematic videos of Tokyo on Instagram with people around the world.

Over time, many followers from different countries told me they hoped to visit Tokyo and meet me someday. Some eventually traveled to Japan from countries such as Italy, France, and Brazil, giving me the opportunity to show them around Shibuya and share food and drinks together.

I also became close friends with several local guides during my travels. When I returned to places such as Hawaii, I had the chance to meet some of them again and visit their restaurants. Since it isn't always easy to meet again across different countries, many of us still stay connected through social media today.

Sharing the Hidden Side of Tokyo

My goal is to share the hidden side of Tokyo through carefully selected local restaurants, neighborhood stories, and places that most travelers would never discover on their own.

Every restaurant on this tour has been personally chosen after many visits and tastings. Rather than simply choosing inexpensive places, I focus on serving food and drinks that I genuinely enjoy and would recommend to my own friends.

Through this experience, I hope to introduce travelers to the local side of Tokyo while creating memories that stay with them long after their trip has ended.
